How it works
A behavioral feedback loop, not a checklist.
Most habit trackers end at step 3. Ember continues through analysis, intervention, and outcome measurement — then loops back.
Set an intention
Create a habit with a schedule, define full, minimum, and emergency versions, and optionally link it to an identity you are building.
Act
Complete the habit at whatever level makes sense today — FULL, MINIMUM, or EMERGENCY. Every version counts.
Record what happened
The system logs the completion, the mode used, the time, and the day of the week. This becomes the raw data for analysis.
Analyze the pattern
Behavioral analytics compute risk, momentum, difficulty, weekday weaknesses, and time-of-day patterns from your history.
Detect friction or risk
The intervention engine evaluates 10 behavioral rules against your current state. If something needs attention, it surfaces a signal.
Suggest an adjustment
You receive a concrete, data-backed suggestion: reduce difficulty, change timing, prepare for a weak day, or protect momentum.
You decide
No changes happen automatically. Accept the suggestion, reject it, or dismiss it. You remain in control.
Apply the adjustment
If you accept, the system applies the change — adjusted target, new schedule, or modified behavior. The adaptation is recorded.
Measure what happens next
After 14 days, the system compares your behavior before and after the change. See whether results improved, worsened, or held steady.
Review and continue
Your weekly behavioral review synthesizes the full picture. The loop repeats, and your system gets more precise over time.
The loop is not fully automatic. The system detects patterns, suggests adjustments, and measures outcomes — but you approve every change. The AI Coach helps explain the data in natural language, but the underlying analysis is deterministic and works without AI.
